I did search Robert Stack online but find nothing what you mention .... may was a guy look like him.

If u can find what he did it in different TV show or movie. It will be a lot easier to find.

I always confused betweeb Robert Stack, and this Robert Lansing and another guy in TVB 鼠縱隊 when I was a kid because they all looks alike..but I like them all, they are very cool at that time.
