sorry, actually not much story behind... just found the melody so good and got addicted since 1984 or so... very lonely at that time (studying overseas) so my Sony Walkman (cassette) and this song spent a lot of time with me... Sometimes I'd listen to it 30 tmes a day or more

 

In 199x I asked a Japanese friend to translate it sentence by sentence for me  surprisingly he told me some of the contents are not suitable for children    Typical of Kuwata (the song writer)...

ANo.1 桑田さん独特の歌詞ですので、読んだままの通りに理解すればよいのです。

この曲を少し解説しますと、桑田さんが中村雅俊さん用に作った曲でしたが、当初の曲名は「恋人も濡れる横浜」だったのです。
街角を横浜に置き換えて読んでみれば、判りやすくなりますね。

で、その後にこの曲が、蒲田行進曲の主題歌になる事が決定したので、横浜を街角に変えたそうです。
（以前にラジオで桑田さんがお話されていました。）

で、回答ですが、普段は訳があって中々合えない間柄の恋人同士が、久しぶりに横浜で会って、二人は心身ともにシッポリとなった。
そんな二人を怪しく包み込み、象徴する町が横浜だった。
と考えれば良いと思いますよ。

sorry that the other versions may take a while, since they require some LD to computer conversion (I'm no computer expert). They are mostly karaoke LDs (some with vocal track) from the oldcake era.

 

Before I do the LD conversion, would you people like the karaoke music only, or with voice on? If "voice on", you can choose either my voice or original karaoke track .

呢首歌既所有版本都想要,正宗''歌迷''(對果首歌著迷)

 

不過真係冇諗過一首歌可以有咁多版本

呢個醉酒版冇乜可能做到, 因為(1)我唔中意飲酒 (覺得D味好苦, 我喜歡甜/好味的飲品) (2)如果我飲大量的酒, (即"飲醉"), 只會覺得個頭好痛, 但思想行為同平時唔會有乜兩樣
